On Saturday 8th June, Beachamwell Village Hall played host to a special event that brought the community together to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The aroma of barbecued delights filled the air as villagers gathered to celebrate this significant milestone in history.

The highlight of the day was the sizzling BBQ, with the coals fired up to perfection. As villagers mingled and chatted, the dessert table groaned under the weight of an array of delectable offerings, tempting even the most discerning sweet tooth.
People were in high spirits, soaking up some Saturday afternoon sunshine and relishing the opportunity to connect with neighbours and friends. It was a heartening sight to see the community come together, in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

A special note of gratitude goes out to all the volunteers… the event wouldn’t have been possible without them. Thank you for contributing your time and effort to make the celebration a memorable one.

As we reflect on the significance of D-Day and honour the sacrifices made during that pivotal moment in history, events like these serve as a reminder of the power of community spirit and unity in commemorating our shared past.
A fantastic get-together that fostered a sense of togetherness that truly encapsulates the spirit of Beachamwell.

What a wonderful day!

Perfect weather to enjoy the very best of Beachamwell’s gardens and warm hospitality. Beachamwell is a friendly village that welcomed hundreds of visitors to its annual Open Gardens event run by and in aid of St Mary’s Beachamwell.
Gardens, Scarecrows, church visits, delicious refreshments and more. Visitors were able to enjoy a guided visit to the church by Churchwarden Peter to get an update on the re-build and to see the complete roof.

Thanks to everyone involved – community spirit at its best – and to all those who visited. It was wonderful to welcome so many people to Beachamwell for the very first time – we hope you’ll return!

And the winner of the scarecrow competition is Garden 12 – Jerry & Jane’s ‘Betsy’ – well done! Thank you to everyone who voted.
